S.E.E.D. Week 2007

Students Equipped to be Excited Disciples
SEED
WEEK
This week is SEED (Students Equipped to be Excited Disciples) Week at
Fremont
Christian
School
. We are once again being blessed as Dawn Geschiere of Youth Unlimited shares
with
our students day by day. Our school theme is “Living in God’s Power” which
is based upon Ephesians 6:10-18 (The Spiritual Armor). We are memorizing
God’s Word, learning about the various pieces of armor, praying, confronting
spiritual “hotspots” (also known as strongholds), and worshipping together.
Dawn
is also visiting with many of our classes and tailoring some lessons to specific
groups. The passage that has been strongest in my mind this week alongside
of the Ephesians passage is 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, "The weapons we fight
with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power
to demolish
strongholds. We demolish arguments and every
pretension
that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every
thought to make it obedient to Christ." Our battle is not against
flesh and blood but against the principalities and powers (Ephesians 6:12) that
would try to set up strongholds in our thoughts, our families, our churches, our
school, i.e., ideas and actions that would seek to steal, kill, and destroy the
abundant life promised to us in Christ. We can do battle against the evil one as
we read, study, and memorize the Word of God—the Sword of the Spirit—and
pray in the Spirit on all occasions. Who and what we allow to control our
thoughts
greatly impacts what we do and who we are:
Sow
a thought and reap an act
Sow
an act and reap a habit
Sow
a habit and reap a character
Sow
a character and reap a destiny.
