This week we had a lot of fun celebrating the season of Fall. Our learning revolved around pumpkins and their cycle of life. We did crafts, measured and compared our pumpkins. We integrated Math by opening our pumpkins, estimating how many seeds we thought were inside the pumpkin,
and then counting our seeds by making groups of ten. When we added all our numbers we ended up with 7,651 seeds. Those were a lot of seeds! We ended our fun week with a visit by the Kokxs family. They talked to us about the cycle of a pumpkin and brought us some yummy pumpkin snacks. It was a joy to share this special season with our first graders!
